Because everyone likes to be teased, every now and then…
How about an exclusive teaser from my short story, TASTE IN MEN, which was rereleased last week? Oh, go on then.
Outside, away from the heat and pounding noise in the bar, he felt more than a little drunk. The heavy, hot air that had felt so close when Connor left work had been replaced with a cool breeze blowing in off the Atlantic which was forcing the tropical rain to fall almost horizontally. The streets were flooding, the sidewalks wet and slick. The sudden change in atmosphere was enough to make Connor forget where he was and what he had been planning on doing until Parker dragged him out into the middle of the parking lot and started kissing him again.
Connor was soaked in seconds by the heavy rain. His white shirt, still unbuttoned, stuck to his chest and the hair that Parker had pulled free from his ponytail was plastered to his neck. He felt the rain soak into Parker’s dreads and he ran his hands down that strong chest to find Parker’s clothes absorbing water as fast as his own. He broke the kiss to touch their foreheads together, just two people alone in the semi-darkness, drowning in the rain.
“Do you want to get a hotel room?” Connor could hear the desperation in his voice.
“I don’t live far.” Parker gestured up the street where there was another strip of shops, each with a flat above accessed by the rear. “That is, if you still want to?”
Connor wanted to. He couldn’t remember the last time he had wanted anything more.
